I found this denim skirt at The Gap. It’s the 1969 A-line denim skirt in size 8 (29 Euro size). The skirt is a good (not great) fit for a pear shape. I say a good fit because while the skirt does fit me, the A-line is narrow and I find that I need to pull the skirt down upon standing. A great fit means that I wouldn’t have to adjust the skirt at all. That said, the denim skirt has a bit of stretch to the material and has subtle distressing around the pockets. The slit in front makes the skirt easy to walk in. Even though the skirt needs a bit of adjusting – I love it.
I wasn’t really sure how to style a denim skirt. Should I wear heels, boots, tuck shirt in, wear a sweater? A quick internet search showed me that ANYTHING GOES with styling a denim skirt – it is an incredibly versatile article of clothing.
Here are two ways that I styled the denim skirt, Casual and Dressy.
The t-shirt that I’m wearing is the missing ‘Now or Nettle’ tee from Mod Cloth. I went crazy looking for this shirt as I couldn’t recall if I received it and ended up re-organizing my dresser, which was truly worth the effort.
My shoes are the silver loafers from C-Wonder (now closed). This is a very nice casual look, great for dropping the kids off at school, running errands or having coffee with friends.
In the dressed-up photo, I have on the Banana Republic t-shirt that I purchased from ThredUp and my cage booties from Nine West. This dressier version is great for dinner with the spouse or drinks with friends.
As you can see, the skirt looks great dressed down or dressed up. I have a few more ideas for this skirt ~ Stay tuned!
