Fitness splurge and save

While hanging out on You Tube I discovered a new beauty guru, Tati (GlamLifeGuru) and she did a workout clothing haul video.  One of the items that she showed was the Zella, All Shirred Up Pullover in gray heather.  Well, I was all over this top because I love long sleeve shirts with thumb holes in the cuff. I promptly ordered the top from Nordstroms. When this top arrived, I immediately loved it.  The material is soft and the fit is really comfortable, fitted, but not tight.  The cowl neck line is roomy and adjustable.  The loose collar can drape over the shoulders, off one shoulder, or you can pull the extra material in the back over your head as a hoodie.  This top is best for after a yoga workout or an afternoon walk.

While waiting the arrival of the Zella top, I found a similar fitness top in heather gray at Old Navy. This top fits closer to the body and has long sleeves with thumb holes.  This top would be best for an outdoor cardio workout.  I purchased this top too and I think it’s a fabulous inexpensive find.

For athletic shoes, you should select the best supportive shoes that you can afford.  If you’re a full on runner, then invest in good shoes like ASICS.  If you’re walking or doing light weight training, then a less expensive shoe like the C9 by Champion is a good choice.

Splurge:

1. Zella, All Shirred Up Pullover top, $58 at Nordstrom
2. ASICS GEL-Flux, $100 at Zappos

Save:

3. Active running top, $20, at Old Navy
4. Women’s C9 by Champion Optimize Athletic Shoe, $24 at Target

No matter what your fitness level is, there are all kinds of stylish athletic clothing in various price points for your fitness needs.  Summer is over and the weather is cooler, so get out there and exercise :-)

Cheers,
Monica
