Makeup from Kohl’s
On my shopping trip last weekend to Kohl’s, I decided to check out their makeup section. Most of the makeup samples were ruined and not replaced by Kohl’s so I settled for the least destroyed samples which were from American Beauty and Simply Vera Wang. Kohl’s in La Quinta, CA are you listening? Clean up your makeup section!
Simply Vera Transforming Shadow Duo in 411
This eye shadow duo in the color 411 has a matte brownish-purple and a chunky shimmering lilac purple. I’ve been wearing the shimmer on my lid and using the darker matte color in the outer v area of my eyes. I like the colors, but the shadows do crease on me even with a primer. I will say that I do have oily skin and most shadows crease on me with the exception of Make Up Forever Aqua creams and Revlon Color Stay eye shadows. The eye shadow duo’s retail for $19.50 and although I like how these shadows look on my eyes, I probably wouldn’t go rushing out to purchase other colors.

Next I looked at lip glosses as I wanted to replace one of my favorite lip glosses, Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss SPF 15 by Avon which I finally used up. Unfortunately, Avon doesn’t make the mineral line anymore. I tried to keep my promise to buy only natural lip glosses, but that went out the window when I saw the American Beauty Fabulous Feel High Shine Lip gloss in Spiced Wine. Ooo, so pretty!
American Beauty Fabulous Feel High Shine Lip gloss in Spiced Wine
This is a nice sheer and non-sticky lip gloss. The gold flecks are smooth and non gritty feeling on the lips. There’s no scent to the lip gloss although I prefer a lip gloss with a hint of mint. This lip gloss retails for $14.50 which is fairly expensive considering there are many drugstore lip glosses that are just as good for half the price. So I’ll enjoy this product, but probably won’t purchase more glosses from this line.
Have you tried any of the makeup lines offered by Kohl’s ?
