Although I’m trying to work more color into my wardrobe, I do resort to the simple colors: black, white and gray. I really like this color combination. Each item that I’m wearing has a different texture so the outfit isn’t too muted to the eyes.
For example, the Calvin Klein blazer that I’m wearing looks solid black in the photo’s; however, the blazer is made of a cotton, polyester, spandex blend which gives the material a grainy pattern. My gray top is an older piece from Anthropology and the ruffles at the neck line are a mixture of the jersey material that the top is make out of and a gray gauze like material.
The white cotton trouser jeans have a gray stitching that defines the pockets, the outer leg, zipper, and cuff. I’ve had these pants for at least 3+ years and can finally fit in them. I recently had these pants tailored for length and the seamstress did an excellent job at maintaining the cuff at the bottom of the pants. The boot cut leg is always flattering to a pear shaped gal.

The royal blue pumps are fairly new. The shoes are fabric and have cute pleats and a twist tie bow on the toe cap. I purchased these shoes at DSW on the clearance rack and upon first wearing are quite comfortable.

I wouldn’t say this is a unique outfit, but the different material textures and sewing details pulled everything together and made me feel quite polished for work today.
Hope everyone had a great Monday!
