Angel Tree: A gift for a young girl

I am most fortunate to work for a company that gives back to our global communities.  We have an “Angel Tree” in our break room and the ornaments are paper tags with a child’s name and the items that he or she would like to receive for Christmas.  The gifts will go to an orphanage in Mexico.

I selected a 16 year old girl and she requested a pair of pants, a shirt, and shoes.  Although I don’t have any children, I had the best time shopping for these items.  I really like the distressed jeans, the top is colorful, and the Converse sneakers are pretty cool.

Also, this whole gift giving exercise gave me the idea for turning a shopping bag into a holiday gift bag.  I got home from Target and realized that I had no holiday gift bags so I decorated a shopping bag.

To me, Christmas is for children.  As mentioned, I don’t have children so this was an opportunity for me to participate in meaningful gift giving.  If you have the opportunity to buy a toy for a toy drive, I hope you’ll chip in and buy a toy.  You will make a child smile on Christmas day.

Cheers,
Monica

We always try to participate in any type of toy drive that our company partners with. This year, I let my son pick out a toy for a child and he dropped it off at one of the holiday events we attended. I agree it’s important to share with others during this time of the year. Merry Christmas Monica!
